What It Is

Modern foam cladding, correctly detailed

Polystyrene cladding is a lightweight system that gives you a cleaner, more modern exterior and can improve indoor comfort. Panels are finished with render or texture for a seamless look.

Good cladding is about correct detailing and proper fixing, not just the panel. We work scope-first, then give a fixed on-site quote, and we finish the system to coordinate old and new sections of the building.

Project Scope

What is included in a cladding installation

From assessment to a finished, handed-over wall.

  • On-site inspection and wall assessment
  • Panel layout, cutting, fixing and edge and opening detailing
  • Reinforcement with mesh and base coat
  • Finish selection: smooth render, acrylic or textured coatings
  • Final inspection and handover

Typical duration

Around 1 to 6 weeks depending on wall area, access and finish complexity.

EPS or XPS

Choosing the right foam board

Both are rigid board insulation. We match the board to your wall and finish goals.

EPS (expanded polystyrene)

Widely used, lightweight and cost-effective for many rendered cladding systems.

XPS (extruded polystyrene)

Often chosen where higher moisture resistance is helpful for the wall type.

FAQ

Polystyrene cladding questions

What matters most on a cladding project.

System appropriateness and following relevant standards and guidance matter. The National Construction Code sets requirements that apply to building work, and we install to suit your wall and project.

It can help, but performance depends on the whole building envelope, including thermal bridges and how the system is installed. R value is the key measure.

The most accurate way to price it is a site inspection followed by a fixed quote, because wall area, access and finish all matter.

Keep it clean, inspect sealant and junctions occasionally, and address chips or impact marks early.

Both are rigid board insulation. EPS is widely used, and XPS is often chosen where higher moisture resistance is helpful. We recommend based on your wall and finish.
